Mumbai: With the release of their masterpiece, “Mahavatar,” which will star Vicky Kaushal as the renowned warrior sage Chiranjeevi Parashurama, film producers Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik are poised to elevate the standard once more.
Inspired by Indian mythology, the movie will be released in theaters on Christmas 2026.
Vijan and Kaushik have reunited for a much-anticipated project that explores India’s ancient mythology, following the tremendous success of their ‘Stree 2’ collaboration.
In what looks to be a pivotal role for his career, Vicky Kaushal will play Chiranjeevi Parashurama, one of the seven immortal figures in Hindu mythology, in “Mahavatar.”
Vicky Kaushal’s success in movies like “Zara Hatke Zara Bachke” and his next project, “Chhaava,” which is based on the story of Maratha King Sambhaji Maharaj, preceded the announcement of “Mahavatar.”
‘Mahavatar’ debuted on November 13 with a visually arresting poster featuring Vicky Kaushal in the role.
“Dinesh Vijan brings to life the story of the eternal warrior of dharma!” Kaushal stated in his post. In Amar Kaushik’s #Mahavatar, Vicky Kaushal plays Chiranjeevi Parashurama. “Christmas 2026 is coming to theaters!”
One of the seven Chiranjeevis, or eternal creatures, in Hindu mythology, Parashurama, is essential to the plot of the movie.
Respected as a sage and a strong defender of dharma (justice), Parashurama is well-known for his strength, wisdom, and fighting spirit.
The ‘Mahabharata’ and ‘Ramayana’ are two examples of mythological literature in which Parashurama is portrayed as an avatar of Lord Vishnu, charged with purging the planet of evil.
